Ministry Vision

Our vision can be easily summarized into three ministry goals:

Evangelism

What is more exciting that sharing the Good News with a lost and dying world?  Paul states the urgency in Romans 10:14, How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Paul realized all too well that there were more lost souls in the world than he could reach.  He realized that without someone to go and reach these untold souls, they would surely be lost without even the knowledge of hope.

Why are we going to Wales?  To reach the lost.  To tell them of the Good news that there is life and hope found only in Jesus Christ.

Discipleship

When you think of the Great Commission what are the first words that come to mind?  I’m guessing your mind immediately repeated Christ’s words in Matthew 28:19,  “Go ye.”   It is a very familiar verse and one that we use to challenge saints around the globe to reach the world for Christ.

How often though, in our zeal to obey this command do we fail to move from verse 19 to verse 20?Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:”

If I merely worried about the numbers I portrayed on my prayer letters, than I may fall into the dangerous mistake of neglecting this ministry focus for the sake of the first.  Yes, we are called to evangelize, but we are also called to disciple those in Christ.  Just as I wouldn’t leave a newborn on the steps of a hospital and expect him to live and thrive on his own, I would not expect a new convert to be able to do the same.  God tells us in Matthew 28:20 that we are to teach them.  Disciple them.

Discipleship is a very strong focus point in our ministry.  For as we grow in Christ, and as our new converts grow in Christ, together we learn how to more closely follow in His steps.  Together we gain a greater hunger to see our fellow man won to the Lord.  But even more exciting – Together we reach even a broader field of lost souls.

Leadership Development

This is one of the most vital focus points to our church planting ministry.  As we recognize those believers who demonstrate a spirit of leadership and sound doctrine, it is our desire to help them grow into leadership roles within these Welsh churches.

The effectiveness of Welsh leadership within the church is magnified 10-fold to that of an American pastor.  As a church planter, our ministry is to grow a church that will be able to sustain and reproduce itself.   As these churches grow and mature, as Welsh Christians are trained and effectively  leading their local bodies of Christ – Then we will know that it is time to move on to begin a new church plant.
