Did you know that you also can help meet the need?!
Meeting the Need
Wales is a unique country, lending itself to unique opportunities to reach the lost with the Gospel message. Two of the more common avenues of outreach are of course church planting and church rescue. However, God also allows for creativity in developing relationships with the Welsh folks.
As common in European culture, before we can ever be a witness, we must first be a friend. They have a lot to give as far as their culture, their passions and their community and we want to also give back to the community, and learn more about their culture. Below are some of the ways we hope to learn more about the Welsh and begin building a friendship and relationship of trust with them, as we give and take from each other.
EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)/Counseling

I am a firm believer that God leads us all through different stages of life, and what we learn during each stage, will better prepare us for the ministry in which He leads. To that end, I am excited to explore the possibility of taking my experience as an EMT, as well as my training in counseling and use these to better serve the folks in the Wales.
To serve in the emergency medical field requires a special heart and compassion for people. Day to day EMTs globally are exposed to the sick, the dying and the hopeless. Without the foundation of God's love and the hope of eternity, I cannot grasp what it would be like to live with the harsh reality that it is "appointed unto man once to die." Depression in this field of work is not uncommon as most come face to face each day with the brevity of life.
What an opportunity to spread the hope of eternity to both those sick and dying, as well as those caring for these in need of help. What a joy to be able to look at these dear folks eye to eye with the confidence that God offers more than the few years we share on earth. This is one area of ministry that, Lord's willing, I will immediately pursue when I reach the country of Wales.

Various Community Outreaches
There are a variety of other means of creative outreach that have found some success in Wales including church-sponsored "teas", morning coffees, mom-and-toddler groups, music ministries and the list goes on.
While the people of Wales are generally hospitable, they are typically somewhat reserved, making any form of ministry one of patience and dedication. But with God's calling, the Bible as our guide and a bit of creativity, we're looking forward to the challenge!
Local Church Outreach
Church Planting
There are many areas here, as there are in every country, with no Gospel witness. In these areas, church planting is a vital need. This particular need requires great planning and patience. The region of mid-Wales seems to be an area where this would be especially needed.
Building relationships with folks in the area is vital. Without that bond of trust, and a strong testimony of God's love and care for their souls, this effort would meet failure.
One of the difficulties with church planting in Wales is the transition from missionary to native leadership. It is not uncommon for a missionary to begin a church, with hopes of passing that leadership to a native believer. However, few are willing to part with a pastor they have come to trust.
One area we would like to focus on while reaching the lost in mid-Wales, is discipling and training leaders, which in turn, would assist with this planting effort.Church Rescue
Once known as "the Land of Revival," churches in Wales are estimated to be permanently closing their doors at an astounding rate of approximately 1 per week. Many of these beautiful buildings are then sold and converted to convenience stores, gas stations, or even pubs. Many buildings are grabbed up by false teachers and cults.
Much of the missionary work that has been done in South Wales in recent years has been in this area known as church "rescue." There are many churches that do not have pastors and have not had for several years, and they would love to have someone come in to help strengthen what remains. There are several ways to partner with us and become a part of this exciting ministry!
